ABOUT
Elaine Wang is a passionate dancer, teacher, and choreographer dedicated to using movement to tell stories and discover deeper layers of self-expression. As a Chinese American artist, Elaine’s foundation in Chinese folk dance, combined with training in contemporary, lyrical, ballet, and jazz, shapes her distinctive and versatile style.
As a dancer, Elaine strives to embody each character fully, ensuring her storytelling comes alive on stage. She began choreographing her own solos in eighth grade, quickly discovering a deep love for creating movement that speaks from her own artistic voice. This passion has led her to receive numerous awards, each a reflection of her commitment to growth and excellence in her craft.

As a teacher and choreographer, Elaine’s works highlight the artistry of styles such as lyrical and contemporary. Her journey in choreographing for others began with two students who had no prior lyrical or contemporary training. Through patient and inspiring instruction, she introduced them—and many others at her studio—to these expressive styles, eventually expanding to choreographing for larger groups. Elaine’s choreography is recognized for its storytelling, musicality, and artistic integrity, aiming to create works that resonate with both dancers and audiences.
Currently, Elaine teaches at Jun Lu Performing Arts, choreographs dance productions at Valley Christian High School, and creates dance shows at Enlighten Chinese School. She hopes to continue growing as an artist while connecting people through movement and inspiring meaningful dialogue through dance.
